PLEDGING DILEMMA!!!

I have a situation I need some help with. I am a 30 year old Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran that was in the Army for 8 years, married with children, and a Prince Hall Mason with a corporate job.

My dilemma is this..
I have wanted to pledge Alpha since I first started college in 95'. The chapter at my school did not have a line before I joined the Army. I recently left the Army and will be re-starting school this Spring.

ALL of my best friends are Alphas, so is my father in law. However, academically I will be a Sophomore in college.

My dilemma is to pledge or not to pledge. I really want to be an Alpha but at the same time I am a grown *** man that would have a hard time with a 20 year old getting in my face or putting his hands on me. Especially since I could probably teach HIM a thing or two given my experiences..

Do you think I should just suck it up and do it, or wait and pledge grad. Or will the younger brothers even accept me being so old and pledging?

Any suggestions will be appreciated

If all of those people you know are Alphas - why are you asking here?

Because their opinons are biased and the only answer from them is do it do it do it. They just really want me to pledge but can't really see things from my perspective.

I'm just asking a vaild question -

If you personally know people who could help you with your question, why ask strangers?

Because, as I stated above, I want an unbiased opinion from someone that does NOT know me. If that's too complicated for you by all means ignore my post.

I wasn't addressing you with that post. I should have quoted Rashid, but I didn't. Your answer makes some sense...but have you tried explaining your concerns to your friends? They're still probably going to be straighter with you and know you better then anyone here.

AF, many people feel that you are annoying, rather than clever.

And you're a coward

I would never pledge at 30. Of course, I'm white and we do things differently, but I couldn't imagine dealing w/ that.

Then what in the hell is the point of a message board?

H-Town, ask any damn question that you wish to ask. That is supposed to be what G C is all about instead of smart assed remarks by some.:o :(

Black Fraternitys have a different program on recruitment than so called white Frateritys do. If Alpha is in your heart, go for it, you desearve it!

The dumbest question is the one that is never asked.:D
