The Butcher of Baghdad Hangs

The Butcher of Baghdad met his maker this morning, December 30, 2007, at Gallows inside the Green Zone, Baghdad, Democracy of Iraq. He was sentenced to death by hanging by Iraqi Tribunal for the murder and genocide of his own people.

The world is now a better place, and I personally hope he rots in hell.

Not until I see a body or the actual hanging will I actually believe it 100%. Yeah it's morbid but I have a distrust of the Iraqi government and their national TV network.

You can have those images. Remind me not to turn on the TV or surf news websites because I sure as hell don't want to see them.

My prayers now for our brothers and sisters currently in Iraq. News sources report that they expect heavy violence in response to Saddam's hanging.

He should have been first.

Actually, He got away easy.

Wrong time for the war in Iraq but now I guess we will see what the reaction is by the people who live there.

Interesting that they should pick this very day to hang him.

I wonder if it was on purpose?

Because of Eid al Ahda, or the New Year?

The full video is on Google Video. I won't post a link, those who want it can find it. Of course, NSFW or Children.

I hear justice is swift over there but dag - wasn't he just sentenced on Thursday LOL ! I guess I'm just use to US justice where you sit on death row for years and years.

Oh well....I pray for our troops to be protected during this ucertain time.

The video of that thing is going to be very damaging to our cause of Iraqi unification. Some of the hangmen were invoking Al Sadr's name, a Shia cleric. Why can't the Iraqi government find hangmen who know how to STFU?

Tom Earp 01-01-2007 04:18 PM

Very well put. Notice too that they all wore ski masks like most of them do over there!

Hell, you do not ever know who the good and bad guys are.

The bad thing in the middle east is that no one ever gets along.

Relegion is the most important thing in their life.

His appeal was overturned on December 25th. After that they had 30 days to carry out the death sentence but apparently wanted to do it before Eid.
If I was the praying sort, I would be joining you. A close friend of mine just returned from Iraq and showed me his pictures and videos. Those hit closer to home than anything.
The worst one was the pictures of an insurgent car bomb aftermath. The insurgent took a marine's life-a marine 15 minutes away from leaving Fallujah and going back home.
Sickening.

Tom, who is the they that wear ski masks exactly? Are you referring to the general population or the insurgents?
The bad thing about the middle east is that the western world caused this strife and continues to antagonize it, all in the name of self-interest.
Religion is very important, hence the theocracies in place in that region. However, do not judge a majority based upon a vocal minority. Surely you could have realized that merely as an American (yes I'm referring to the nutbag fundamentalist christians, I just wanted to be blatant enough for you.)

I watched the video twice. I have no soul.
