Advice needed for Phil. events
Hi ladies! I just have a few questions on how well your chapter does with Philanthropy Fundraisers.
Firstly, has anyone ever organized a run/walk? I really want to but I would like to speak with someone who has actually planned one. Next, I know other chapters do Mr. CASAnova, so for those who do, how much do you typically raise? I've just always wondered how other chapters do with their male beauty pageants. Lastly, what fundraisers work best for your chapter? I've been reading all of these posts about different fundraisers, but which fundraisers have been successful? My chapter is starting a new fundraiser this year so I'm looking for ideas- so far I'm heading toward the run/walk. Thank you! I look forward to hearing from some fellow Thetas!! Our signature Philanthropy event is a Texas Hold'em Tournament. It's actually been really sucessful. You just have to be careful not to gamble unlawfully, the Gambling commission can give you all the details should you wish to persue it. Good luck with whatever you all decide to do.

Phi deuteron/Stanford hosts a very successful 5K/10K race during Stanford's homecoming weekend every year (the "Theta Breakers" - a play on words of the annual nearby Bay to Breakers run in SF).
You can find contact info for Phi deuteron on the Theta site. Good luck! Jane |
Another sorority on campus hosts a male beauty pageant and it's definitely one of the most successful philanthropy events. I think the raise around $5,000 on a campus of about 2,000 students.
