Why do we even care?

Ah, College Confidential. Nice to see that they're still talking about us years later.

Everytime one of those "Greeks suck!" threads gets ugly and closed, another one starts up again. As long as fraternity and sorority members are around, independents will continue to shit talk.

So who cares?

ehhhh... hard to take that site seriously. It's a bunch of helicopter parents living vicariously through their children.

Hm, read some of this and find that some are either fraty/gdi types or have no clue to what Greeks are all about!:rolleyes:

They want to profess and talk S---. Stuff for some.:o

Here is my own joke about being in a fraternity ...when I was a senior and getting ready to go to Kentucky, one of the cheerleaders ran up to me and said "you know, you won't make it there if you are not Greek...." Shrugging my shoulders, I replied nonchalantly "oh well, guess not since I am Italian."

But when you know what it is to be Greek, then it makes all the difference in the world. Too bad they don't know that.

I've read through the rest of the site, and I can't decide who is crazier; The students for obsessing over every minute detail of their HS transcripts, or the parents for obsessing over every single college ranking in US News and World Report. After reading some of the forums on the website I wanted to grab some of the children and shake them while saying "Calm Down! It's not that damn serious! Breathe!", and after I read through the parents' forums, seriously wanted to slap some of the parents for micromanaging the children's lives to such a high degree. I never believed how lucky I was to have a mother that did not interfere with my college selection process, except to say when a school was too costly or too far away from my hometown.:)

OMG OTW I like totally agree with you but wouldn't college be just like totally fab if they just did not like let the GDI's in?

If I was 18 now and knew my mom was posting on that site, I think I would probably do something like run off and join the circus.

PARENTS: YOUR COLLEGE YEARS ARE BEHIND YOU. YOU CANNOT RECREATE THEM THROUGH YOUR CHILDREN. IF YOU WERE STILL HUNG UP ON COLLEGE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE BECOME A PARENT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I'd vote for community college. That would be even more horrifying for them. *Gasp*

Oh, by the way, if it wasn't for GDIs who join, there would be no Greeks!:D

Those GDIs who do not know just do not know what they actually miss.

Although CC has several over-the-top posters, both students and parents, it is a great source of information when embarking on the college search. I just wish we had discovered it years ago.

As there are anti-Greeks on the site, there are also pro-GLO members as well. Some are also members of GC.

This thread is lame. Greek chat is getting boring as hell.
