Christmas Presents 2007

Thought it would be fun if we could discuss what we would give each other for Christmas this year if we had a big LXA Christmas party.

Tom - you get a dictionary to help with your spelling old man. I'm also giving you a Kerry/Edwards 2004 bumpersticker for your car because I know how much you love John Kerry.

John G. - You get a map of New England to help you on your next journey. Also one of those neck pillows for the long airplane ride.

Brothers and GreekChat Friends,

I would give each member of GreekChat the ultimate gift.

A gift that can be used throughout the year and, yes, even each day of the year!

Nay, each hour of the year....

A gift of penultimate usefulness that none can refuse. A gift of perfect utilitarian practicality.

What is this supreme gift?

An Earp Decoder Ring!

Seasons Greetings,

Mike Raymond

Actually, I DID get a Christmas gift for a brother on here.....but then found
out it is illegal to mail it to him :( So he'll just have to wait until I see him
again to get it....probably 2 more years (Gen Assem 2009). It'll be better then
anyway. It is a product invented in Georgetown, KY, and the one I got bears
the name of the inventor....the same guy who founded a school that later
became Georgetown College. Can anyone name this great Baptist Minister and
Inventor, and his most well-known invention??? Re-read for hints, and
think KENTUCKY ;)

Kevin, I am going to guess and say Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey.:D

Ah the evil brew does some good at times!;)

JoinerLxa 01-14-2007 04:47 PM

Eli Got it! Never heard of Rittenhouse Rye....I think the "connection" you
found is just coincidence, Tom. (The school Craig founded was called
Royal Springs Academy, then Rittenhouse Academy, and finally Georgetown
College). Seems Rittenhouse Rye started in Pennsylvania.

You're right Kevin - it IS illegal. Take a look at the thread I started on December 21, 2006 for more details, and what happened when UPS found out what was in the package!

Of course I should have known....all wisdom can be found on greekchat.com!!
ha ha!

So it almost happened to you twice, Jono! ;) But I chickened out at the last
minute, thinking if I sent it, FBI would surround my house and fill it, and me,
with bullet holes. I bought a second bottle to send to a friend in Italy....
so I am left with two bottles (since I don't like bourbon...BAD KENTUCKIAN!)
I wonder if the Mafia has its own mail service to Italy?? hmmm.....

So you'll have to do with a weblink until we meet again:

Cheers!

Kevin,

As they say, it's the thought that counts - and I thank you very much for the thought!

I do look forward to seeing you again in 2009 in either Indianapolis or Boston, or both.

I wouldn't want you to get shot, but we could DO a shot. :D

Cheers to you too!

ZAX,
Jono

GammaZeta 01-15-2007 12:44 PM

Wait, what?

Is Boston even on the table? I know I made a thread a while ago complaining about Indy getting it. Any news?

EM1843 01-15-2007 01:19 PM

Please don't make me go back to Indy.

Tom Earp 01-15-2007 04:12 PM

What you didnt have fun being with the G C LXA's?:D

Well, you were around for just a short as working to hard.:(

You could have come to mine and Jono's room. We held meetings of the main kind. No Bourbon of course!:)

Now an interesting item, if We do Boston, what is there to see, and would there be a road trip to Coles Burial site?

Educational for sure and a place of reverence to behold!

Need a plan to work out more seeing than be stuffed into rooms!

GammaZeta 01-15-2007 08:19 PM

Tom, it's Boston for Christ's sake. We're not talking seeing the largest Ball o' String in the world or Chuck's Cheese World.

We're talking both the birthplace of our fraternity AND the birthplace of our nation. Boston's only one of the top destinations for conventions IN THE WORLD for a reason. The new Boston Convention Center is simply beautiful. There's enough sightseeing (non-LXA) to last at least 2 weeks.

Seriously, Boston is really promoting itself right now. Someone at HQ should consider placing a call to the Boston Convention Authority or Boston City Hall, or whoever runs the damn thing. Hell, we just hosted the National Democratic Convention just a few years ago. Boston is the PLACE!

JonoBN41 01-15-2007 08:58 PM

GammaZeta's right, but he left out the best part!

In Boston, they're working on this HUGE tunnel project and when they're done, we'll be able to drive to France!

(that is right, isn't it?)

EM1843 01-16-2007 08:22 AM

I don't care if it's in Boston or Boise, I just don't want to go back to Indy. Maybe we should go back to the Bahamas...
