Lincoln Heights: New Season This Fall
 

I have been seeing this advertised on pages in Essence for a few months, and wanted to know more about it, I look forward to seeing this.

Had no idea about it. However, I received the most clever promotion for the movie. It was a Christmas card from the family that included one of those "what happened to us this year" letters. It was VERY cute.

Like the show so far but my husband could not have gotten me to move to that house or neighborhood.

LOL. They did serious renovations in four months.
The girl from Boomerang is still sassy. :p

I believe this needs to be on a Sunday night at the same time. Monday night @ 7ET is busy time for most families (homework, dinner preparation and consumption).

Who did she play in Boomerang? I liked the show alot and I will be checking for it next Monday.

i'm watching it now, and its 12am. hopefully it will rerun like it did tonite (7pm, 10pm, 12am). i miss good ol family TV shows... i hope people watch it and it stays on the air. 7th Heaven was similar, it took years for people to seriously watch it, in the midst of all this reality-TV mumbo jumbo.

also, i'm confused as to why they move back to the hood (i understand the husband is a cop, maybe it was a political move? i missed the first couple of mnutes of the show)

Basically, that family decided to move back for a couple of reasons:

1: this is the dad's old neighborhood and wants to see it improve . . also he has some peosonal issuse he's dealing with

2: It's part of this police / community project to rehabilitate the area (he wants the family to to move in hopes to spark a positive trend where as other families may want to come and move in as well)

3: they need the space . . they were living basically on top of eachother in the opening scene . . no room 4 anything

can you tell I kinda got into the show? . . I like it, but I wonder how long it'll last . . . .

i'm going to have to catch a rerun. between wifeswap, the game, and i love new york this show completely slipped my mind!

I completely forgot about this show too. I hope it will rerun soon.

When I first saw a commercial for this show, I thought it was going to feature a Latino family. Lincoln Heights is a predominately Latino community in East Los Angeles.

Regardless, it looks like a good show and I'll check it out.

there's also a lincoln heights area in DC. before i reading this thread i just assumed it was that neighborhood. :)

The young lady with the braids played one of the students in Angela's (Halle) class. She and the classmate came over with Marcus to Angela's new job after she left Marcus.

ETA: There is also a Lincoln Heights in Ohio.

Just say that it's Lincoln Heights, Anywhere, USA!

oh...when i heard about this show, i didn't think it was like the Lincoln Heights in Cincinnati. if so, that show would look a bit more like The Wire...:(
