Phi Mu Badge/ Necklace....
Okay ladies...I was on the internet the other day and I have no idea what I typed into the search engine but, I came across this website that was selling "locket-like" phi mu badge holders....It was shaped like a Quatrafoil and it was gold. You could insert your badge into it and wear it like a necklace. It was gorgeous and I would love to get one but, now I can't find this website for the life of me....If anyone has any idea where I can go to find this again or if you know where I can go to get a specific piece of jewelry like this-it would be greatly appreciated because I love to wear my badge. Please let me know....Thanks all-and have a great holiday!!!:)

I know if you go to Herff Jones, you can order a catalogue (free) that includes an item very much like the one you are describing.
I hope so...
If this is the case-then you may have possibly just made my night...thanx bunches.....
You can order something like that from HQ if you want (at least, it was on the order form for new badges this fall).
They are wonderful to have. Be wary though, just like with the badge holder rings, the pin back of the badge can weaken and break. You have to check the back of your badge every so often for wear. You don't want to lose something as precious as your Badge!
Is Herff Jones the "official" jeweler of Phi Mu now? Can I still have my badge made into a ring (not with just a badge-holder device)? Would I do that with them?
HJ is our official jeweler as far as I understand. But their link takes you back to Carnation Collection, your best bet is to order the catalogue from HJGreek which feature SO MUCH more items and is great to have around the house. It has the badge necklace holder and other very cute items, all available forms of the badge and lavaliers, etc. HJ lavaliers are the best! I have a HJ Lavalier from my BF in his letters and a random comany Phi Mu lavalier and you can totally see the HJ one is better made, it's thicker and stands out more. One thing is that certain things must be ordered through HQ even though HJ makes it (such as badges) for "security" purposes.

Thank you for the heads up regarding the badges. I find it sad that our badges end up on ebay. I think I find it even sadder that they have such a low starting bid.
I'm very tempted to contact him for that badge. He lives in a city very near me and I could just drive up for it. And at that price it's a steal. I've always wanted a fancy badge, and better me than some random...what do you think? Is that kosher?
It would be in Phi Mu hands, so it sounds like a happy ending to me!
When I checked yesterday, there were 2 more badges listed. And, the prices had increased considerably on the more ornate ones.
How does one define 'vintage'? |
Here is a mother of pearl Phi Mu charm. Pretty item even though it's gold filled. The current high bidder has a -2 eBay rating.
