RIP Peter Boyle

I just saw that Peter Boyle (Young Frankenstein, Everybody Loves Raymond) has passed away. I thought he was a really funny man. We even shared the same birthday.:(

RIP Peter Boyle :(

He was the only original member of the cast who never won an emmy. He did a great job in 'Young Frankenstein".

Young Frankenstein was hilarious.

Shame about the emmy, he deserved one, I think, more so than some others on that show.

:( Sad news indeed. He was so funny in so many things.

He deserved an Emmy for Clyde Bruckman. That was the best X Files episode in my opinion.

I loved Peter Boyle!! I still remember him in "While You Where Sleeping." I heard on the radio this morning that either he was John Lennons best man or Lennon's was his. I didn't know that!!

Rest in Peace Peter Boyle.

Lennon was Boyle's best man. Boyle's wife, Lorraine, was a reporter for Rolling Stone when they met -- he was in full "Young Frankenstein" make-up. Lorraine was a friend of Yoko Ono, through whom he met Lennon.

I enjoyed him in many roles -- especially Frank Barone ("holy crap!"), but he will always be the Monster in "Young Frankenstein" to me.

I appreciate this thread more than anyone!! You are so damn clever in your phoenic humor!! But yet, I hate to say it: how many of you know what it is about and have really seen the awesome movie by Mel Brooks--YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN?? For me, it became even funnier when I finally saw Boris Karloff as the original FRANKENSTEIN (as in Mary Shelley's story) and didn't know that the entire Young..is a total takeoff and so damn punny of the original black and white borin' version...especially with Teri Garr's scene in the back of the wagon and she says "do you want a roll in the hay?" to Gene Wilder and he says "yes, I would.." and she starts moving back and forth on the hay singing "rolla rolla rolla..."

But without the superb acting of Peter Boyle beneath the Frankenstein garb, it wouldn't have been worth the price of popcorn!! Regardless of Gene Wilder, Teri Garr and the comedic genius of Mel Brooks (wife was the great "Mrs Robinson" )...in fact, the following stars are also cruising thru this cinema gem: Gene Hackman (Harold the blind hermit),Cloris Leachman ("Frau Bluecher...horses winnieing....??),Marty Feldman (Igor with the wild eye thing happening plus the humpback),and Madeleine Kahn.

Needless to say, this is a great last minute dvd grab for anyone who needs a good laugh or for the movie buff or cinema major in your family, fraternity or just a close friend!!

Hey, Peter Boyle, thanks for the memories here!!! My stomach starts to hurt just thinking about his dancing and the quote from the beginning of this thread.....crack me up!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D what a champ!!
