Secret Santa gifts for kids you know nothing about
Deleted random post from last night and replaced with a useful question that just came up.
At the company where I am currently doing project work, they do a Secret Santa program where employees buy gifts for underprivileged children. I drew a 2nd grader and a 4th grader, both boys, and when I went to get them stuff this morning I found it was a lot harder than I thought- and I really want to be sure I get them stuff they might want. Trouble is- I just have a name and what grade they are in. No clue what they might actually want. For the 2nd grader I got a small lego set, a dinosaur card game and some Hotwheels cars. For the 4th grader I got a bit more complex lego set, a gyroscope, a whiffle ball and a science kit where you can make a clock using a potato or piece of fruit. We have a strict budget limit so that the gifts are fairly even among the kids, but going on that and so little info, did I do okay? I know some of you have kids, and any thoughts are appreciated. These were not terribly expensive items, so if anyone has better suggestions I could do that and then just use these for something else. Dollar limit is $30 per kid. Picking stuff was harder than I thought! |
Hey Tom, where did you have to go, I didn't know you had to travel weekly! So extra snaps for all of your help!
1. Did you try hitting the thing? My desktop wouldn't turn on last night after using my laptop for a week, a quick hit in the hard drive area and it powered right up. Dealerships try to screw you where ever they can. There's a scratch in one of our car's door and they want to charge $800 bucks to fix, where as when the door was all dented in, it only cost $400 to replace. 2. I don't think you're to in the wrong. If he couldn't find a cell phone inside, surely there was a payphone or two. Last weekend headed out to Brady TX we had a guy pull up to the gas pump while we were filling up and ask, how do you pump gas? It was strange because he's truck obviously had fuel in it, and he was an old man. A little strange. 3. I still get packages in the mail from Google around Christmas, from when I used to use their Google adsence program on my website. They usually send me some sort of zip drive with the Google logo or some other small gadget. I've heard they've sent some big websites owners such things as 7 MP cameras, and laptops. |
Oops! I just changed this post as you were replying. Sorry dude!
The original post was me whining about my speedometer stopping last night and I see now I can't change the title so I will just repost the Secret Santa thing in a new thread. I am just going to Houston during the week for a bit. Just 3 more weeks to go- a week here and a week in Houston. PS- The speedometer is going to be $500 and I was wrong in that I have 39K on the truck now and am just barely out of warranty. But still going to fight and see if I can get a freebie after what happened to my last chevy just 4K out of warranty ($2,000 AC job.) |
