The Rise of the Dive

People at my college, and especially the alums, LOVE them. I thought this was unique to my school, but according to this article it's becoming a trend. I'm not a big fan of dive bars, I only go because friends go.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was Beckett's. The second was Great Scotts.

Articles like this are what are killing really fun dive bars. Because:

1) They start to believe their own publicity.
2) All the hipster doofi grub up and go there and think they're the cat's ass.

This is happening to my favorite dive, and it makes me unhappy. Yes, I am one of those people who says things like "U2 were so much better before they got popular."

But any article that references Bobos in Paradise...yeah, a little past the expiration date.
