Why is Eta not used as a prefix for greek designation?
Fraters,
You may consider me with less knowledge for asking this question but im only in my first semester as an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and as an officer i was reading the International Bylaws and Constitution(The Black Book) and found in there that no chapters my be designated with a greek name with the prefix greek letter Eta. Can anyone explain why this is? It is something that has stemmed my curiosity since I found it. |
Hope you won't mind a non TKE answer. We don't use Eta or Iota as a prefix letter. Though there doesn't seem to be an official ruling, it just seems to ensure that chapter names aren't as easy to make fun of.
Eta Pi chapter just seems to ask for trouble. TKE of course may have a completely different reason. |
Same with "Eta Theta."

Iota Eta Zeta. But I didn't.

Delta uses Eta.
I thought this was a question specific to Tau Kappa Epsilon since he reference their Black Book. |
I think he was asking specifically about TKE, but it's a relatively common event in other GLOs. Either it's for the same reason as other GLOs or it's private and he won't find anything out here.
