College Fraternity Day

I'm not sure if the day really exists but sometimes I get the feeling that 123 greetings just invents holidays so that they're service is utilized.

Don't know if the fraternities have such a thing, but the sororities in the National Panhellenic Conference observe the first Monday in March as NPC Badge Day. My local Alumnae Panhellenic usually does a luncheon on this day.

I did a very down and dirty search and while I was unable to find any site that indicated the why, I found several greeting sites indicating that it it happens.

aka, a "Hallmark Holiday."

ETA: Kappa Alpha Society, considered to be the first of the modern fraternities and the father of the modern Greek system, was founded at Union College on November 26, 1825. So, if there were to be such a "Hallmark holiday," Nov. 26 would make sense for it.

Oddly enough, by coincidence, I deemed Nov 27 to be Fraternity Day on our campus through my former position as IFC Public Relations VP.

It was a day for all IFC members to wear letters, be awesome and gentlemanly, and we did a little clothing drive.
