Happy Founder's Day indeed. I know it's the first one for a couple of us on here.

Has anyone been to a Founder's Day dinner?

DolphinChicaDDD 11-23-2006 03:11 PM

I missed the founder's day events for my alumnae chapter and my college chapter. Both were on the same day, and I had to take a praxis test that day. I have attended some in the past.

Yes this was my first Founders Day! :D We are having our event next week and I am really looking foward to attending.

My first Founder's Day as an alum was very interesting. I remember when the chapter roll call occurred, I was the only one there from my chapter and almost everyone else in the room was from the local college chapter. It was overwhelming as our school was very small.

Atlanta Founder's Day Celebration

Dear sisters,
Tri-Deltas from around metro Atlanta met to celebrate Founder's Day together. The guest speaker was award winner broadcast journalist, Deborah Norville. Ms. Norville was initiated at Univ. of Georgia. Some of her pledge sisters were seated together with Debbie for this special occasion.
Active sisters from Emory, UGA, West Georgia and Brenau joined alumnae at tables with centerpieces of lighted candles. I was fortunate to be with sisters from our West Georgia chapter. One collegian was a seven way legacy to another group, but knew her home was Tri-Delta.
About 270 attended the dinner and celebration. The candlelighting ceremony was inspiring, as always. Since Atlanta attracts people from all over the country there were numerous chapters represented. It was fun to see many Deltas from our single letter chapters lighting their candles.
Scholarships were awarded to a collegian from each local chapter who had achieved scholastic excellence by having the highest GPA in her respective chapter.
It was an evening to remember.

Hey Tri Deltas,
I befriended some Tri Deltas when I lived for a time in Toronto. They were very kind to me, and I have to say, I've always quite liked the motto: "Let Us Steadfastly Love One Another". :)

Bump!

Happy Founders Day Sisters! Here's to another 120 (and more) years of Delta Love!:D

Happy Founders' Day Delta Sisters 2008

This November the Atlanta Alumnae of Tri Delta celebrated Founder's Day with the chapters at Emory, Brenau, West Georgia and UGA. It is always fun to be with collegians for this special occasion.
The speaker was Peyton Wright from our Tennessee chapter, who had some inspiring experiences working for Tri Delta as an alumna. She was also on the Bachelor TV show and commented on her days on network television.
Three collegian members were honored for their high GPAs. By coincidence all had 3.93 averages!
Candle lighting was the highlight of the evening along with the chapter roll call. Numerous chapters were represented from all across the U.S.
The celebration ended with the singing of "Alpha Theta Phi".
