My Love Life Sucks...since 10th grade!!
Sunday began like any other day. Woke up and worked a 12 hour shift at work. The only difference was that a firefighter I used to date asked me to come over to see his new house. I LOVE new house smell so I agreed. We never became an official couple because when he was living with his mother his PRESENT girlfriend at the time showed up while I was there! Boy was there drama in the air. However, like the woman I am, I just explained to her that I didn't know he was taken and I just left. After that incident the firefighter(FF) and I just remained friends. We just chatted on AIM every other week. When he invited me to see his new home he made it clear that he was single, but I really didn't care since a zebra can't change his stripes. Thirty mins into watching Hotel Rowanda we heard a door bell ring. Then the ringing turned into bangs then the bangs turned into yells. His supposed ex-girlfriend was outside screaming "Open the door!" "Larry*, put on your clothes!" I've never been scared for my safety to that magnitude before! We just tried to ignore her. Next thing we hear is glass shattering! This girl riffled through his trash and started throwing Hienkien glass beer bottles at his newly built house! The first thing I asked FF was "Does she know she's your ex??" He ended up calling the cops on her. Took officers 15 mins to show up! This ghetto girl could've already broken into the house and killed us! We all know that certain officers don't speed to save blacks. Good neighborhood too. I stepped outside and saw the damage she did to my car. Windshield was cracked so bad and she scratched the heck out of my car! The cops got his ex to come back and I pressed charges. He didnt press charges and was extremely upset that I did! When she came back she had that straight ignorant ghetto low class attitude. I know plenty of ghetto people and they are nowhere near as ignorant as this girl. Instead of her stepping up to me ike a woman and saying "I apologize for what I did. I don't know What I was thinking. I will pay for all of the damage I did to your vehicle" she said "Your car was raggedy anyways." When she she was hand cuffed and placed into the patrol car she stared at me hard and mouthed someting to me. I didn't pay her any mind. I just still can't believe that FF expected me to drop charges!! Someone's going to pay for the damages and it's NOT going to be me. Now I have to take her to small claims court. At the moment she is still in the County jail. Her bond is $2000. I bet she's think about my "raggedy" car now!!
What was the WORST experience you had dealing with your love life? |
one more thing....
His birthday is on the 22nd and I already purchased his gift. Should I give it to him or just return it?

BellaSF, I know you didn't ask for advice but girl, run...no wait do a Flo Jo and dash away from this situation! There is NO WAY I'd even remotely date someone in this situation - much less who would get upset with me for pressing charges due to damage to my car! Oh heck no.... Until he gets his past straightened out, there can be no future. Good luck with that....
Ok, to answer your question I can't think of anything too crazy olutside of having to deal with a lying ex boyfriend or something like that. I've never been physically harmed or had any of my property damaged either (please believe if I had, this post would be coming from the county jail). lol |

OK.... Did you not just tell a story about how he invited you to his house TWICE knowing that he had a woman (oh yes... PLEASE BELIEVE that they are still together or something is going on), that he did not defend you like a man should, AND got mad when you pressed charges against her? And then you double back and ask if you should give him a gift??? Are you serious? |

ETA--you shoulda been looking for a bat in the house to take to her head while that trick was outside wrecking shop on your car!!!!! |
It sounds to me as if they had a fight and he decided to make her jealous using you. Been there, done that, cut your losses and move on.
p.s. Why did you buy him a gift in the first place at this point in the "relationship?" p.p.s. The behavior you described is not exclusive to "ghetto" women. Jealousy knows no socioeconomic class. |

Um Bella...hang up the phone. Why are you buying gifts for him? This time it was your car, next time it may be you. That girl is not his ex, that's his crazy girlfriend. He leaves much to be desired if he would date a girl as you say so ignorant and ghetto anyway. It took 15 minutes for the police to show, you never know how many times they have been called to that house in the past for domestic disputes, just a thought. Life is too short for drama. Return the gift...save that money for a Christmas gift for someone who really cares about you and has your best interest at heart. |

Thank you...
Thank you everybody for all the advice...especially Afrochic.
And I didn't mean "ghetto" as socioecomic class. There are wealthy people who act ghetto. I meant ghetto as how she carried herself. |

Reminds me of some of the things I've done back in the day...you are better than that. Push on and love yourself. For real...take this advice. :D

I say move on as well. I won't go and say that they may be still together b/c she could just be holding on to him after he broke it off. You never know. I knew this one crazy chick who wouldn't let her ex bf go...it was RIDICULOUS!!!!!! They would mess each other's car's up at night...and he had the nerve to give her a key to his place before they broke up! You best believe she went over there one day and opened his door to find him studying with another chick. She went straight loco! And the sad part is that when she told me she said they were just studying...so why she went crazy is beyond me. Especially since they were broken up. Even started a fight with this girl he was dancing with at a party at ANOTHER SCHOOL because she was jealous:confused: Needless to say I don't talk to her anymore and there are too many stories I could tell. Be careful b/c once someone shows you how they really are you should believe it. She crazy.

Like I previously stated, they may not be together, but they still have ties. Trust me, I know that there ARE crazy people in the world, male and female alike. However, 97% of the time, there is still some interaction that will allow a person, especially women, feel like they still have something to hold on to. It's true, some people are crazy for NO DAYUM REASON, but more times than not, they have some reason behind it.
Aside from that, in this case, he GOT ANGRY when she pressed charges! Had it REALLY been over and she was just some crazy, deranged chick, 911 would have been on dial from the very first ding dong. She had time to ring the doorbell, knock on the door, bang on the door, rifle through the trash, throw bottle, bust out a windshield, and scratch a car.... ALL BEFORE HE CALLED THE COPS. Then after all this drama, he didn't press charges? Not even for disturbing the peace? Not even to set an exapmle that he is tired of her being a crazy "ex" girlfriend? I was born AT night, not last night.... |
