Thanksgiving gifts

Aside from wine or a pie...anything else?

In what sense? To meet her family or what? I have never heard of people giving each other Thanksgiving gifts.

Boy you're whipped...

Rudey 11-15-2006 02:39 PM

As in going to her family's house for Thanksgiving dinner and bringing a gift. Except they'll probably have lots of wine and lots of pies.

Although I am actually considering the Charlie Brown DVD now because I want to see it myself.

K Sig RC I have no idea what the French have to do with this but when in doubt, I always fall back on this one phrase: You are gay.

HBADPi you're just jealous because the guys you meet off of craigslist.org and adultfriendfinder.com don't invite you over for Thanksgiving.

It's true...I'm still holding out hope that the post I made on the "Missed Connections" section of craigslist will yield some results. As for adultfriendfinder, I'm not the person on GC that knows a little something about that.

I think any traditional host/hostess gift would be appropriate. A nice plant, flowers, wine (but like you said they may have a lot of wine), a basket of stuff from Bristol Farms or Harry and David, etc.

 :D Collection of holiday DVDs. Show them your sense of humor and include Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers.

You can't go wrong with flowers. Another gift would be a nice selection of exotic teas.

Rudey 11-15-2006 07:14 PM

Basically I either bring Charlie Brown or secretly hint that I'm gay by bringing exotic teas and candles.

Or pick up a bag of gourmet coffee. Not the Starbucks kind. Flowers would work too.

ZTAMich 11-15-2006 09:07 PM

I'd go with flowers too. Florists have some great Thanksgiving arrangements now. I was just ordering some today for my parents!

I think flowers aren't really such a hot idea . . . food would be solid if lame, maybe ask if there's something the cook doesn't like to prepare, and you can order that beforehand. I LOVE Charlie Brown, but only as a half-serious addition to a real gift.

SO BASICALLY if you can get some sick gourmet deviled eggs plus a children's DVD, you'll be ballin' for sure?
