Thought this would be a good place to congratulate the Epsilon Xi chapter at Northern Arizona University for initiating 16 wonderful women last week.

Way to go, Epsilon Xi!!!!

Also, we need to FORMALLY welcome Petals!

As one of the few in my father's family who didn't go to PSU, Petals, where are you from? Two of my great aunts were professors there!

Whyyy thank you! I’m from Pittsburgh, honeychile… and excited to visit some (soon-to-be) sisters at Pitt sometime in the future. I’m wondering how greek life there compares to Penn State, as I’ve heard it’s a really different experience.

If I had any doubts about where I ended up on bid day, they’re all long gone now. Diamond Sister revealing was last week, and I had my heart set on being assigned to either of these two sisters that I’d really clicked with during recruitment-- sure enough, one is my big and the other, my grand-big! If that’s not a sign that I’m where I’m supposed to be, I don’t know what is. I was surprised (but glad) that we were finding out who our bigs are so soon… is this typical of all ADPi chapters? Diamond Days aren’t for a while, but I still really like having an older member around to answer my questions and just be there while everyone’s still getting to know each other.

Wow! I live south of Pittsburgh, and at least one other sister on GC does, too! My extended family has quite a few of the cottages near Whipple Dam - would that I did!! :D I'm not sure if we have any recent PSU ADPis right now, but feel free to PM me, if you'd like.

Diamond Sisters are assigned early, as they are supposed to "guide" you through your Alpha period, answering any questions you have, and being that shoulder to cry on (if necessary!). I'm glad that you like yours so well!

Hello sisters!
I know that I dropped off the GC earth right after you all welcomed me so warmly, but now that the semester's winding down I thought I'd pop back in and say hello-- and that I, along with 18 other fabulous alphas, were initiated by Delta Kappa last night! Apparently it's one of the biggest alpha classes in some while, and I'm just so excited to finally be able to call all of these great women my sisters... so NOW I officially look forward to getting to know all of you lovely GC ADpi ladies :)

polarpi 12-14-2006 03:50 PM

Congrats Petals on your initiation!

Just the perfect holiday gift for us GC ladies! :D

Thanks! I became a Delta in October and I love it so much. It's really one of the best decisions I've ever made. I am the NMC now and I can't wait till next semster!

Funny you post that pin... I can't tell on this computer if they're diamonds or pearls, but assuming they're pearls, that looks like it's same pin that I'm waiting for to arrive. Nice taste, honeychile :)

My initiation pin looks just like it, only in white gold, and with a guard. Sapphires are my birthstone - my parents were SO gung ho about me joining a sorority that my high school graduation present (other than a trip to Portugal) was to get my choice of sorority pins. Oh, and I have the engraved hands, not the raised hands, just to prove that I truly am a honeyasaurus!
