How to Get a Date for Formal!
 

Alrighty, I've been reading Dartmouth's paper online ever since someone on here posted a link. Well, I know it's formal season year round for Greeks but today they actually have two different articles about getting a date for your sorority formal.

Post your best advice!

Mine: Don't be ashamed to ask a co-worker. But make sure he realizes your true intentions. Trust me, it's awkward when you realize your buddy wants more and you do not. Also, ask a sister! The only drawback is she'll ask for the same in return one day. Doesn't she know you suck at finding a date or else you would not have asked her?!? :D

Don't be afraid to ask a friend. Sometimes they are the best date you can have if you want nothing in return at the end of the night.

Send out feelers via your facebook friends list. I mean, I've never done this but if you're facebook friends, he can't possibly be sketchy right? :P

i would always vote for asking a friend over a stranger. At least that way you know what to expect from them in terms of behavior and how they'll mix in with the rest of your friends.

Always opt to take a friend. Being set up is almost never comfortable, and taking a crush can often end in disaster. With a friend, you know what to expect-- a good time with your sisters and no pressure to do anything more than have fun at the formal!

take a girl in a wheel chair like I'm doing free drinks, and a free ride home

It's way more fun to take a friend esspecially if it's one that knows a lot of people going that way you don't have to "babysit" and entertain your date!

Definitely bring a good friend that likes to dance - that's what I'm doing for my formal. It's not awkward, no uncomfortable moments at the end of the night if your intentions are different, etc.

if you're older, take a freshman you don't know that well. they're so excited to get asked to a fraternity formal by a senior that you're pretty much guaranteed to get some butt.

plus your friends will think more highly of you.
