Should I rush again in the spring?

If you are still interested in Greek Life in general, then I say check out some other chapters. Every sorority chapter is different and you may find yourself somewhere you never expected. If you have your heart set on this particular sorority, I'm going to be honest. There's a strong possibilty that they won't give you bid. There's no harm in going to their events, as long as you understand that. |

Honestly, as long as you don't have your heart set on the ONE sorority, then you could very well find a place in another sorority.
There are no GUARANTEES of getting a bid, but if you keep an open mind to other chapters, your chances are much better. |

Each Sorority and Chapter are always going to be a little different. The important thing is to find your niche and who you feel comfortable with to help make your College Years more productive. Granted in later life of being a Greek it will become important, there is no really bad National Greek Sorority, just some bigger on a National scale. |
I would say that you should go for it. In general, informal rush is usually more relaxed and gives you a better chance to meet the sisters on a more personal note. I think sometimes, it's more direct as far as knowing wheter or not you will be extended a bid. I guess it depends on the school though. Do you know how it works at Towson? Will you get invited to all the houses that are participating?

If you still have your heart set on going Greek, by all means-do it! Especially if you're feeling left out & your school has a strong Greek community, I think that it's great that you have it in you to go thru it for a second time around. I experienced something very similar and now I'm in an absolutely amazing group and it feels great to have finally found my home.
I hope your experience is as postive as mine. I know many others than have gone through something like you, but they didn't suicide--in some cases, they got dropped all together, mostly because they just preffed their top sorority, or in some cases, they'd get a bid to a sorority they thought they didn't like/fit in with, but they gave it a shot and ended up loving it! I think you should definitely go through again in the spring. However, I wouldn't be concerned with going back to that top choice sorority. Everything happens for a reason and that place was probably not meant to be your home! Check out other sororities you remember liking earlier in the week and go to some that you may have never even considered. You may be pleasantly surprised! Good luck & keep us posted. |
