Jasmine and other flower oils

Does anybody have any experience in buying flower oils to be used as perfumes? I had a Chinese student who used jasmine oil and she smelled heavenly but she didn't have enough English to tell me where she bought it. I'd want the real thing and not some blend or fake.

I have a friend who happen to love this brand of flower oil called "White Flower Oil" which has this really strong scent that she loved and used it as a perfume. I'm not too sure that if it's the same one you friend uses. You can try to show the image to her. Interesting enough this oil is actually a medicene that helps you awake when you feel nausea and also prevents mosquito bites and heals them if you get one.

You can normally get oils like these in Chinatown stores or some small chinese herbal stores.

You can make your own perfumes with aromatherapy oils. Jasmine is so pretty!

If you have a Whole Foods near you, you can find a wide range of aromatherapy. The Vitamin Shoppe also has a good selection.

To make a perfume, you'll need to use about 20 percent essential oil, 75 percent alcohol (use vodka.. I'm not kidding!) and about 5 percent DISTILLED water.

The way you do it is to drop your essential oils to the vodka and stir slowly
Let it stand for two days. Then add the water and stir.. and let cure for at least two more days. You can experiment with the curing time-- some people let it cure from four to six weeks. If its too strong, you can always add more distilled water.

Finally, strain through a coffee filter to get rid of any sedement. And there you go!

You can sometimes find small bottles with corks at Pier One Imports.

Or...if you don't want to make your own.. you can always buy a natural jasmine perfume. Here's a source:
