Frater Erik Conard passes on to the Chapter Eternal

I got an email from Erik Conards Wife Grace that my very dear friend has passed away.

Erik passed away the morning of Oct. 31 st, Holloween Day.

I am sure E is getting a chuckle out of this knowing him as I did.

I am saddened by this as he and I went back to 1965 at PSU in Kansas.

He knew I wanted to start something on my own and did a lot of behind the scenes work to help us. He suggested LXA as He had a lot of respect for the organization as he knew many LX's over the years especially in his traveling years.

Please say a little prayer for him and when you next ahve a toddy raise one for him.

Interfraternally Yours,

Edited to change Grace from sister to wife.

Sorry to hear that, Tom.

My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace in the Chapter Eternal.

I actually thought of him the other day when I logged on and wondered where he is.

May he rest in peace.

I had been wondering also
where Erik has been.
He had many stories from many years
of being involved in the Greek world.
While sometimes
he said things that drove me nuts,
I hope I'm still into being Greek
when I get to be his age.
RIP Erik.
Campi.

(And this IS a tribute, done in the Erik posting style which I never quite figured out why it existed.)

Tom,
I am so sorry to hear of the death of your friend Eric Conard. I shall pray for him and ask that God be good to him. May he find happiness and fulfillment and be among those who will value and honor him forever. May he be made whole and stand with his brothers. May our Lord welcome him into the fellowship of those who have gone before, and may his memory call to mind only the good of his life.

I will lift a glass and toast his memory this evening.

Interfraternal greetings and a prayer of blessing be with him, and my sincere
condolences to you my friend.
Peter

I never quite understood that either. His posts came out looking like poetry, and perhaps they were.

I think I figured it out some time ago. If you keep hitting enter while composing your posts in the post/reply box, it's going to look strange once it's actually posted. The margins are different. While the post box is about half of the screen's width, the actual text will go most of the way across the screen.

Frater Conard mentioned several times his collection of TKE memorabilia, including letters he exchanged with Tex Flint. I wonder if someone is close enough to his wife Grace to approach her about her plans for those. They shouldn't go into an estate sale, if you know what I mean.
Best,
YITB,
Walt

If I remember right I believe he said he had willed all that stuff to IHQ. He was doubting that for awhile because he said IHQ was bad about stuff given to them in the past and many of it was taken, misplaced, or just totally lost. I believe after talking to IHQ affialated people he changed his mind.
