Help with Ceremonies

Hello All,

First I want to say how much fun I had at National Convention! It was so wonderful meeting everyone and sharing ideas... I need some help with cermonies now though..

Our university just sent an e-mail out that said that there should never be open flames in their classrooms etc etc and that is where our chapter performs it's ceremonies (Activation and Initiation use candles). We do not have a house and I don't want our chapter to get fined or have other consequences brought against us for using candles, but I don't want to sacrifice the sacredness of the ceremonies..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Electric or battery operated candles are the best way to go.

It was nice meeting you folks, too!
Since it specifically says open flames - is there anything you could get to enclose the candles (like glass lanterns or something?)
Or if you're looking for a different location - we don't have a house either, and in the past have performed our ceremonies in one of the school's teaching barns, or the livestock pavillion.
