Chants and songs
Its been awhile since ive heard anything about our chants and songs......has anybody heard anything new here lately.......I heard this one recently
Take your girlfriend to the corner, where the lights are dim and low. Put your left hand on her shoulder and your right hand down below. When she starts to shake and quiver, right between her thighs, Tell her that's the secret handshake, of the Lambda Chis Thought it was fairly amusing. Post if you have anything that we might find interesting. |
Better be careful with that one, in this day and age, you might be acused of promoting rape, which in turn would get your chapter charter revoked.
|
Thats a rather tame ditty compared to some I've heard from sororities, the women's residences, and especially from Trinity's secret society - and many of these risque ones date from the 50s and 60s :)

I wasnt promoting anything.......its just one that I came across while I was doing a little reading last night......I found it a entertaining so i decided to share it with everyone else.......as far as I know ive never actually heard it chanted or sung, but from some researching that I have done it does have the tendency to be on the milder side especially since there was no cursing in it what-so-ever.

Stand your date up int he corner and turn the lights down low (low low low) Put your hand upon her bussom and the other one below (low low low) When she starts to shake and tremble, then you ask her why She'll tell you it's the secret handshake of a good ole' Lambda Chi! Surely she will blow, surely she will blow, Surely she will blow your ho-or-orn! Surely she will blow, surely she will blow, Surely she will blow your horn! There's a couple more verses that some brothers made up which are pretty dirty but I don't know them off hand. |
New to the board
First post on this board...
I'm an old song leader...they used to call the position the "high ho" We have some pretty filthy songs...how free are we here to post ..ahem..somewhat objectionable material? |

This is an open site and many people see and read it. Thanks. |
We sang it.
The chant/song in question was sung frequently at Ship in the early 90's. Not sure if they still do it or not. But, in our version, instead of "date," we substitued the name of a particular sorority that starts with "D."
We had many other "inapropriate" songs, too. Some of them even used (looks both ways before continuing, then whispers,) "curse words" in them. But that was back when people still had a sense of humor. Probably best not to share them here. |
"Dirty Songs"
Hey Mark,
You mind emailing me these songs in question and anyone who has good unofficial songs. I'm trying to bring them back to the Delaware chapter. My email address is dherron@udel.edu. Thanks |
