Smart Phones and PDAs
Just wondering on what everyones take is on smart phones and pdas. Are they worth it? If so what would you suggest getting?
I know that I want a software program with a calendar that you can view the whole month. I know that at one time this was an issue with some pdas. Thanks, maybe Santa will bring me on for Christmas with everyone's input. |
I have a Treo 650.. use to have a Sony Clie and a cell phone separately.
I use to use my PDA alot but have now transitioned to Google Calendar... The PDA Phone is useful if you commit to actually using it. Otherwise, just get a regular phone.. much cheaper. |
I absolutely love my Palm Z22 that I got for Christmas. I don't know where I would be without it. I keep my cell phone separate for personal reasons. It's a lot better than lugging around a date planner.

I had a Treo 600 that I loved, when it wasn't freezing up on me or when it took less than 20 times to try to dial, even when I had all my signal bars.
I switched back to my old regular phone, I was too frustrated. I want the SmartPhone by Sprint, but I hear it locks up as well... |
I just got an TMobile MDA/Pocket PC and I find myself not wanting to use the phone or answer the phone because of the incovenience of putting on my bluetooth earpiece. If I wore the earpiece all day, then it might not be an issue.
I do love having all my contact info available and my calendar that I sync with all the computers in my life. Its also nice to have access to the internet anywhere to check for directions or restaurant hours....but I guess you could still have that with a regular phone. |

And finally, the damn touchscreen. Can't lean into it, cradle it btwn neck and shoulder to free up hand for a moment--leaning turns phone off when your face hits screen. Don't laugh too hard or yawn too big--cheek will hit touchscreen and disconnect you |
