what now?
So, I transferred this year, and was kind of adimant about not joining a sorority this year. But then, one sought me out, and after hanging out with them once they extended me a bid. My school is pretty large and has an extensive greek system, so it seemed like a fun thing at the time. I click with the girls but I wonder if thats enough. I accepted the bid, figuring these next few weeks would be a test run. Now, I find myself torn between two groups of friends and my own conscience. If anyone has any info or wisdom they would like to impart upon me about ADPi, it would be greatly appreciated. I just feel like I don't have all the facts sometimes, and I don't like that.

If you have another group of "friends" that is forcing you to choose between them and your sorority, they really aren't friends.
Go with how YOU feel hanging out with the sorority members and getting to know them, not what other people are telling you. If you like the time you spend with ADPi, that's what matters. |

I don't know about your chapter, but we always had a LOT of people in our suite who were either members of other GLOs or none at all. Can you invite some of your non-sorority friends to your house (or whatever) for a study break or a party or something? Maybe, just maybe, they'll see that we don't bite, and cut you some slack. And if that doesn't work, try the old "pro and con" list. Will your friends be there for you when you transfer to another city or another state - that's just one question I'd ask myself. If you want more, PM me. Bottom line, it's your decision. I do hope you make the one right for you. ETA for grammar |
I have to agree with what everyone above me said, if they are forcing you to choose, then they aren't real friends.
Only you know what's right for you. Are you enjoying your time with ADPi and the sisters? Do you want to give that up? I hope you make the right choice for you. |
