University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Sorority Fall Numbers

Since I didn't see a sticky for this like in the Fraternity Recruitment section, I'll just post a new thread. :)

2006 Fall Sorority Numbers at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

Alpha Phi: 17!
Alpha Xi Delta: 3-6. I haven't been able to find out the official number just yet.

In regards to them being houseless, are they the only group on campus without one? I've known of groups to be successful in the past without a house, but it took strong recruiting and I suppose it also depends on the campus atmosphere. How many sororities are there on campus?

Do you know why the AXiD chapter moved out of their house? I heard it was because the rent was much higher than the dorms and other apartments, so it no longer made financial sense to live there. You make it sound as if something bad happened. Just wondering!

I'm sure posting on the internet that Alpha Xi is having number issues won't help them much.

For the record AXiD pinned 9 this semester. We are also very optimistic about having the house back for next fall. From what I understand, rent was sky high on the house and people were unwilling to pay unreasonable amounts amymore.

The house was rebuilt, but there was a fire in 1993, and the AXiD chapter house burned down. One of the girls was lost in the fire and another girl and her boyfriend were transported to the hospital and placed in critical care. This was NOT because of a party, although I haven't found how the fire started. I haven't heard of them ever moving back in though. You can google it and the news story pops up in a google news archive.

This thread was from 2006. I think they've moved on to greener pastures at this point.
