TKN Badge Price
I have recently found a TKN badge and the person wants $800 for it. It has a Alpha chapter guard with diamonds on the guard. Just looking for any feedback on the amount he is asking for it. Is it too much or reasonable?

Wow, $800.00, in the eye of the beholder and how much money one has of course.:D
Diamonds in the guard. Alpha just means in TKN that it was the first chapter in a state. I have one with many diamonds/pearls and a AA guard, Alabama Alpha. Would be interesting to see a Pix of it. Any chance? |
That's a pretty high amount. Yeah, let's see a picture of this puppy.
Who's the seller? Is his name Roger? ZAX, Jono |
I offer...
*Dr. Evil voice* "1 MILLION dollars" *end Dr. Evil voice* |
A few years ago the prices on ebay slowly went down (as everybody
who wanted one, got one). Not being rich enough to be a big bidder like Earp, I had to wait until they got down around $300. They went even lower after that though. I think $800 is very high, unless there's something really unusual about it! Oh, and just to remind you every few years Tom....don't forget your TKN badge with the unapproved/unusual AA guard was a "set"... I've got the ring and alum. recog. button owned by the same brother! ;) Now I'm glad I got these....they're much more rare than the badges. Plus the ring fits my fat little finger...ha ha! my 2cc |
Ive been trying to get the pictures from him, but he hasnt sent me any yet. He offered to and i told him that i wanted to see them but he has yet to give them to me.

Looks like a pearl guard from the blurred pix, not diamnds.
$800.00 over the top! |
Oh I disagree. I think it's a very interesting badge.
If memory serves, TKN put the initiation dates (not graduation years) on their pins. Minnesota Alpha had initiated 50 members by 1927, 85 by 1930, and only 87 by 1935. The chapter closed in 1938, prior to the merger. It re-opened briefly from 1947 to 1959 as Gamma-Omega of Lambda Chi Alpha, but has been closed ever since. The only name in the directory that fits is Leslie Davis. Nice find! ZAX, Jono |
