On-Line Classes
 

How is that going to work then if it's an in person final? For my on line classes, everything was done via elearning. Personally, I wouldn't recommend taking stats online. I would do an elective like a literature/history/liberal arts class if you can.

Stats classes are usually algebra (if this is like RM 410 or something) with a touch more added in. If you feel like you know enough math for this to be easy then go for it. I took up to calculus in HS and then in college had to take one math class, so I took stats. Unfortunately, the teacher was an idiot and half the class was full of people coming back to school - it was a night class. We spent 3 hours on "Mean, Median, and Mode" and some of the people in there STILL didn't get it.

It's not a tough class usually, and wouldn't be terrible to take online. But do look at the syllabus and see if you have at least a general understanding of the material beforehand.

nearly all my classes for the College of Business at UF are online. It was a challenge at first... kinda different to watch classes casually at home. But I've grown accustomed to it. Its nice to watch lectures at 1.4x speed.... saves time ;) haha.

I also have an online class this quarter. It will be my first time experiencing online classes and my first time experiencing a quarter system :confused:

I've heard from some that it can be a pain in the butt----more work than a regular lecture class, but i've also heard that it can be a piece of cake. Hopefully yours and mine go well!

My professor for the online class just sent the syllabus to everyone.

He requires 3 books for the class and he told us "you won't be able to find the books in the bookstore, so you are going to have to find another place that might have them." Which sucks for me, because i'm at a new school and I don't know my way around.

I can't even drop the class because I need to keep 12 credits for my scholarship, and so i'm pretty much screwed. UGH...i just wanna go back home now! lol.

Try MBS Direct, Barnes and Noble, Amazon (all online sources). Complain to the dept head that the professor is assigning books that even the bookstore can't find.

He said it was because he was "hired late." The original professor had to leave for medical reasons, and so they got this person to fill in, and he could only teach it online---thus why it became an online class.

And he just sent out the syllabus this morning...and that si when he said that we could check out a place called Cody's that *might* have it, but he said the bookstore wouldn't because he didn't ask for them to carry those.

I check B&N.com, each book is like $40. I hate it, especially since I don't have a credit card or nothing---is there any other way to pay for the books w/o a credit card? lol..i'm so "behind the times."

I emailed the professor and let him know...I just wanna see what he says before I do anything, but I might end up dropping the class (i actually found a class that wasn't full and that I actually had wanted to take!! the time sucks though). I'm not a fan of hassle, especially when i'm trying to adjust from a semester system to a quarter system.

Depends on the format and structure of the class.

I find them to be tedious, especially when classes are in a chatroom setting. Sometimes on-line classes are more work than non-online classes.

They are good for working adults, etc.

Well, I just found out today that I was admitted to the Specialist Degree.

Since I have a full time job in another city, I will be taking all my classes online.

I know already what I will be taking in the Spring semester. I just need to do the procedure to get ID and email when I get the official letter from the grad school.

So far, I have had no problems with online classes. Except for one class that was extremely hard per se and had a tough professor- but the live version with this person would have been just as demanding.
