Would you buy this for your daughter?

There is a new national ad running for "Barbie and Tanner"

Tanner is Barbie's new dog...and it poops. Barbie comes with her own pooper scooper and a trash can to clean up after the pup.

I am NOT making this up.

Makes you wonder what happened around their marketing table...gives a whole new meaning to a sh*tty idea.

Survey: Would you buy this for your daughter?

Well, it does show that no matter how beautiful you are, you will have to pick up someone else's shit at some point.

Well, I guess it's realistic. But everything else about Barbie is not realistic (how many people have a Dream House *and* a Ferrarri?) so I think this is a little too much! :p

If either of my daughters feel the urge to pick up dog poop, I'll give them the pooper scooper and send them out to the backyard to clean up after our three pups! :)

ETA: Now THIS is a cool doll. Growing-up Skipper (third down on the left). I had her and thought she was awesome! http://www.dollreference.com/skipper_doll2.html

I was telling my friend Carol about that doll and she said, "You know what they need? If they are going to sell dogs that poop, they need Trailer Trash Barbie...complete with tatoos, that comes with her own double-wide and sold only at stores in South Carolina."

Maybe they'll come out with a sequal, "Corporate Climber Barbie". She could come complete with a brown nose and she turns into a b*tch as soon as she gets her next promotion.

Does anyone remember pregnant Barbie? I'm not sure if it was Barbie or one of her friends. But she had a trap door in her stomach, you opened it, and out came a baby.

KSUViolet06 09-22-2006 11:08 PM

I remember the pregnant Barbie. Walmart wouldn't carry it because there was no ring on pregnant Barbie's finger.

tunatartare 09-22-2006 11:10 PM

I think they had to remake it for that reason. Not sure if she's still around, but if she is, she comes with a crib and a husband.

The smile on that doll's face is creepy.

And I guess she's not planning to breastfeed since she doesn't seem to have, um, nipples.
