To club or not to club
Do you wear nalia to clubs?
How old is too old to go clubbing? How old is too old to wear nalia? How old is too old to wear nalia to clubs? |

Here in California, I never see anyone wearing 'nalia to a club, unless there is a Greek party being hosted that night. In that case I will see lots of people wearing letters, but of course, not drinking! As far as "how old is too old to wear 'nalia?"--I for one think you are never too old to wear your letters! I think it's great when I see senior citizens wearing caps or sweatshirts with their letters! |
I know this is an extremely old post, but I'm behind...

The reason I've replied to this post is because I have been invited to parties that charge less for "Greeks w/ para". Do BGLOs and LGLOs have a rule about wearing letters in an environment where alcohol is going to be served? I know I wouldn't even THINK of wearing my letters into a party... |
AlphaChiGirl,
I'm not in a BGLO or LGLO, but I know my sorority (a MCGLO) has a rule that states we cannot wear letters in environments that serve alcohol (the exception being a restaurant). And we of course can't wear letters while drinking. So for us, when we go to parties where there is a discount for Greeks w/ para, we wear a pin or something that we can take off and put in our jackets or pockets. So I would do that...just wear a pin or lavelier and then remove it after you pay. |
My chapter has a policy that WE enacted about not drinking in 'nalia. You can drink in party shirts and rush shirst, but not in letters. That was the comprimise we had to make to get the legis. passed. We also make our new members take off their pins (as do we) if drinking. We are also banned from wearing 'nalia to places that make more than 50% of their profits from the sale of alcohol. Easyiest way to make the policy clear for our members was to follow FIPG rules on what defined an alcohol serving establishmant.
