E?
I know a lot of chapters -- especially Southern chapters and campuses -- refer to SAEs as E's. I also remember seeing something in The Record -- from a midwestern chapter I believe -- of a banner outside their house after recruitment that said "E The Fraternity."
Where does this come from? This is a new one for me. |
I think it's just another (albeit uncommon) nickname for SAE, similar to Sig Alph.

That's what I figured, but I was curious of it's origin. Most likely one of those things that just happened and caught on.

The nickname E auctually originated at Middle Tennessee State University. One of my brothers pledged there and then transfered to the Kentucky Beta Chapter at Western Kentucky University.
