Ebay WHAT?

I just got a bunch of emails stating that my various items had successfully been posted to my account. The thing is, I didn't list anything!! What in the world happened? I immediately closed the browser and went to ebay.com to make sure I was in the right place. I changed my password and contacted ebay.

Thoughts? Have any of y'all had this happen?

Something like that happened to my mom. She contacted their customer service and changed her password and I'm pretty sure things were fine after that.

Does anyone else use your computer? Sometimes eBay doesn't log you out, so if someone else does something on there, like post items, it's tied to your account. For example, I got an email one time saying that the earrings I ordered would be shipped. I was like, "What earrings?!?!?" Turns out my mom had ordered something after I'd been on the computer, and she forgot to switch over to her account.

It really pays to be careful now, though. Do you use PayPal? I love it because it's so convenient, but recently my sister received a phone call from the bank asking if she was using her debit card in Romania. She wasn't, of course, and it turned out that she'd been sent one of those scam emails that look like they're from PayPal requesting her account number and some other info, and she replied to it "because it looked so real!" Well, someone got her credit/debit card number that way, and went on a shopping spree in eastern Europe! So if you encounter any weird things associated with eBay, I'd let them know.

Whenever I get weird emails, I always contact the fraud department of these online entities. Well, I think things are getting taken care of! I received an email this morning from ebay stating that they had noticed strange activity on the account (me trying to sell 50 of the same item and getting charged almost $200 in fees within about 3 minutes). Apparently my password was compromised and ebay sprang into action. Everything's being removed. Unfortunately, two buyers purchased two items before the mess got resolved.
