Cigar of choice?
I like Tohibas, although usually a good Macanudo will do.
|
You mean Cohibas? Two different versions: the original Cuban and the one made in the Dominican Republic. Most of the major cigar brands (H. Upmann (Montecristo), Partagas) that are made in Cuba are also made in exile.
Be aware that importing real Cuban cigars into the U.S. is illegal. And even then, many of the so-called Cuban cigars sold in the Mexican border towns are counterfeit, unless you go to a reputable smoke shop. |

Tohibos, LOL! First off Cohiba is a Brand the Castro started as a State Cigar! Late comer for sure.:D If you want the best of The Cubanos, go with Romeo & Julietas, Partagas, Upmans and the old line Cigar Companys. Be careful about knock offs from Foriegn Countrys.:) Locals, try Toraneos, Honduran and Nicgaragian! |
I would have to say that Cohibas are not all that great. Romeo y Julietas, Partagas, El Rey del Mundos are all much better. I took a special topics class in college about Cuba and got to go with special permission from the State Dept., so I made sure to bring back a huge stash. You should see my hubby's humidor! Is is any wonder he adores me so?? ;)
