recruitment at a campus w/o my GLO

I will be initiated into Alpha Sigma Alpha in late October as an alumna initiate. I am very excited! In the mean time, the campus where I am working on my Ph.D. is having formal recruitment in a couple of weeks. There is not an ASA chapter here, but do you think there would be any kind of volunteer opportunities for me? Of course, I can contact the Greek Life office (and I intend to), but I thought I could get a sense from the GreekChat crowd if helping out with recruitment would be a totally weird thing for me to do. I figured that I couldn't really do anything with the chapters or actual parties, but I thought maybe I could just pass out materials at orientation or something. I don't know...just thinking...

Is there an alumnae panhellenic in your area? I would contact them to see if they help out with the campus in any way. Alternately, if there is a chapter without advisors, you could possibly become a faculty advisor or mentor for them. Feel free to PM me for more info re: alumnae panhellenic.

This is good advice to know.

You might have trouble if you want to volunteer with a specific GLO rather than in general somehow. I found this to be true before I was initiated and wanted to help out the local Tri Delta chapter. I was told I needed to be an initiated member to help in any way.
