Sports Day in Elementary School - did the "Blue Team" always win at your school?

One of my favorite memories from elementary school was "SPORTS DAY"!!!
We usually had 4 teams: blue, red, yellow and green & I was just discussing this 'phenomenon' with someone else.

Why is it that:
"The BLUE Team usually won?"

Discuss!! :D

Ah yes, Sports Day. There were a lot of individual events, so I don't think one team always won. I would always end up in the top 3 of the softball/baseball throw (who could throw it the farthest); I'm not fast, so the sprinting events never turned out well.

I also know that, at some point, EVERYONE would get a ribbon. Those who didn't do well in the events would get "Good Sport" ribbons.

It is very true that the blue team always won. My son's baseball league became aware of this fact and had a blue team, light blue, darkblue and white striped team, aqua, as well as a read team, green team.

I am glad that someone else has noticed this conspiracy.

With ours, it was a cumulative thing. So, the blue team always seemed to win the "overall championship", if you get my drift. The blue team might not always win every event, but they took home the big trophy each year, it seemed.

there were different teams....not to sound stuck up, by in elementrary school, my team usually one. I forget what colors we used, but they made a rule in 4th grade that you can't be on the same team as last years, so new team mates and colors for everyone.

It's really just an excuse to let the kids around and give the teachers a break...seriously

And Teena, I didn't know you were a mom. Congrats, I guess, but I'm proably 7 years late.

ETA:
I hit post too early. I have more stuff. We won a lot because kids picked their own teams. I could do long jump, standing and running, with the best of them, and was in the finals every year.

KSig right about the ribbons. Even the kid that snuk off and took a nap got a ribbon. The teachers/coaches, etc. don't pay any attention except for the one P.E. teacher that said "hey, you should be in track next year in middle school" but I was still going to be there for another grade.
