Recruitment Guide in TX

I just stumbled across this when trying to google a college's fall recruitment schedule.

http://www.houston-panhellenic.org/r...recruitment%22

I thought I was relatively cognizant of what was necessary, but full body shot pics???? We were NEVER told that by anybody in VA nor is it written on all college Greek websites.

Keep in mind this is the suggestion of the alumnae Panhellenic and should not be construed to follow official university policy.

My child is going to one of the schools that the Houston Panhel Alums cite in the non-TX school section. One would assume that there are a significant # of girls from the Houston area who attend the school if it is listed. Even if it's not official (just like "recs aren't required"), this school's Panhel may end up seeing a lot of pics of girls from head to toe vs. the classic head shot.

We used her graduation picture as the drape with pearl strand, and studs looked very classic and not too trendy. Should she send a full picture in when she actually registers for January recruitment in Oct/Nov? She leaves for school on Saturday so we need to do this ASAP. The other question is what should the girl wear for the picture? Summer, fall .....

alum, I am a member of the HAPA round table event. Please don't worry too much about the headshot/full body shot. If you want to do it, spring clothing is fine. Most of the girls submitted both a head shot and full length shot. Truly, the recs are the most important thing. The photos just give the sororities an opportunity to match the face with the name so they can make the young ladies feel more at home when they come to the recruitment events.

As PenguinTrax mentioned, this isn't a college policy-- just something HAPA has recommended. I'd say we send about 200 girls each year off to 15+ colleges. That's a very small percentage of the girls going through recruitment!!!! There are many other APs in TX who hold similiar round tables and don't even discuss including photos with recs/apps. Easier said than done: try not to stress about this. It's not a hidden pre-req.
