Hmmm...thought I would get this board going again!
Anyway, do you any of you have Pi Phi songs to share? This whole summer I've been looking for new, fun chants that we can do. My chapter has a retreat the first weekend we're back, and it'll be something great to share! Well ladies, I hope you all had a great summer. Well...I am also looking forward to rush because it will be the first time for me on the "other side." We adjust pop songs to fit Pi Phi rush. For example, we used Christina Aguilaras "Come on Over." We used... "Hey, girl, don't you know, Pi Phi's got it goin' ooooon..yes we do. We got an invitation, don't you keep us waiting all night long. I know, you know, Pi Phi's the way to go!".........(chorus)"All we want is you, come over here rushee, all we want is you, you know you make us go crazy" etc. You get the idea...I know, it's cheesey, but the I for sure remembered it! Check the Bucknell Pi Phi website. It's suberb for chants and songs. We sang the following song at Founder's Day..it was so cute. But it may be more appropriate for bid night or sometime after. pi phi chants
there's one chant we do during rush at unc that EVERY rushee remembers, whether she pledges pi phi or not...it's hard to get the gist of it by reading it in a forum, but it's still a badass song- especially if every other sorority on campus knows it too!

Anyway, I'll probably butcher the lyrics, but this is how it goes. (Including some dance directions.) Our Chapter here at Virginia Delta sings "I Will Survive" but we alter the words some. It is a real ear catcher when we are all out together, and is a great way to end rush events, it lets all the pledges end on a happy note, singing Pi Beta Phiiiii!!!!
When it comes to the refrain: Now go, Walk out the door, Dont turn around now (turn around in a circle) You're not welcome anymore Werent you the one who tried to hurt me with Good-Bye? Did you think I'd crumble? (HELL NO) Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no not I , Pi Beta Phi (anytime you would say I will Survive you scream, Pi Beta Phi) The last refrain you hold Phiiiiii And then we burst into a chant: Viriginia Delta Give it a yell, give it a yell, give it a great substantial yell, and when we yell we yell like hell and this is what we yell Pi Phi, Pi Phi Pi Beta Phi!!! Chapter is in a rut. At every sports game or what not, we always do the aforementioned bid day song ( Pi Pi Beta Phi, P-I P-H-I Pi Phi....). Does any one have any other chants or songs that would fit on the sidelines of Panhellenic soccer and such. Thanks so much!

Hello Ladies,
I was wondering if anyone had any good "good-bye" songs. And curious also to know if everyone sings while the rushee's are entering the house and/or when the rushee's leave. An all time favourite for my Chapter is "one two three words" That's the one that most of them know. One two three words carved on a golden dart one two three words worn over my heart one two three words love them until I die one two three words Pi Beta Phi A really lovely song espcially for Pref Night. But if anyone has any suggestions for up beat more non conventional Pi Phi songs, it would be greatly appreciated. Some of my gals are finding that the songs that we know are all too much for pref night and not many hip hoppie cheering ones. |
We sing:
clapping, and kinda fast start off slow, but by the time you get to "come" start really fast Why don't you come on in and let the fun begin and let us show you why we love Pi Beta Phi we wear the Wine and Blue the Golden Arrow too we want to share our love and loyalty with you. we just repeat that over and over again when the rushees come in and we sing the same thing when they leaving...I really like it. |
