Talladega Nights
I couldn't find a thread on this, so I thought I'd start one. I saw this movie on Friday. Absolutely hilarious! Has anyone else seen it?
No waiting for it to come out on DVD...
It was alright. Some funny parts......I would wait till it came out on DVD.
It was fun. Typical Will Ferrel banter. I think I like Anchorman better though.
I loved it. I'm a big Nascar fan and I thought it was funny.:D
Ferrel is a Delt.

I usually find I like Will Ferrell in short sketches or minor roles (like in "Wedding Crashers"), but I tire of him in an entire movie. I was hoping this might be different, but given JenMarie's comment ("Typical Will Ferrel banter"), I'm likely to take macallan's advice and wait for the DVD. |
It was a fun movie, but, to me at least, not worth seeing in the theater. I'm just glad our local theater (non-chain) had it so I only had to pay 5.50 instead of the stupid GKC theaters in town.
/raised their prices AND got rid of their student discount //kicks them |
The movie is great. The first half will keep you laughing, and there are a few scenes that are a complete riot. It is worth seeing in the theatre, but it probably won't rank up there with recent comedy greats such as Wedding Crashers and Anchorman.

I liked it. I don't think I'd call it my favorite Will Ferrell movie, but it was good none the less.
It was OK. I laughed more during the trailer for Borat than I did during the entire movie. I'd wait until its released on video.
Will Ferrell did a great job. He took NASCAR and made it funny for people who might not know about it. It's all about shake and bake.
I wanted more Reese Bobby and less Ricky Bobby.
When he threatened to make pot liquor out of that little boy, I lost it. :D |
We saw it - I laughed through most of it, but only because once I get the giggles, its hard to stop. Some of it was like  because it just made crazy jumps in the um, "plot" I guess you'd call it
But I was laughing so hard at one point, there were tears rolling. The part about help me Tom Cruise & help me Oprah WiniFRED had me hysterical. Mr. AXO & I have been making my mom nuts with the "dear sweet little baby Jesus" part. But overall, you can wait for the DVD. I also don't know why they bothered to list Charlotte, NC in the credits - 99% of the shots were taken in Gastonia (Mid Town Motor Inn most prominent), Cramerton (Pizza Parlor was a facade, but the Antiques store is real), and McAdenville (huge billboard over the lake that says "Home of Ricky Bobby") -- all Gaston County cities. |
