TV Host Mike Douglas has died...

"Mike Douglas, whose affable personality and singing talent earned him 21 years as a television talk show host, died Friday on his 81st birthday.

A piece of trivia: Roger Ailes, now president of FOX NewsChannel was the producer of The Mike Douglas Show for several years.

I once visisted the tiny TV studio from which the show originally was broadcast at WKYC-TV in Cleveland. (formerly KYW-TV -- it's a very long story how Cleveland and Pittsburgh swapped call letters).

He always seemed so jolly. I remember he had an afternoon talk show back when I was in high school - or some time long ago. RIP, Mike.

He also introduced a 2-year-old Eldrick "Tiger" Woods to the world on his show. I remember his show. RIP.

It's possible either way. They and their shows were very much alike.
