Alumni Association Websites

Does anyone have links to any nicely put together Alumni Association websites. I am getting ready to put one together and am looking for some great ideas.

I don't know of any but I will be watching this thread with great interest as we need to set one up for Berkeley as well.

Here is ours. The homepage is severely out of date (as often happens) but there are still lots of pages and features to navigate through to give you some ideas.

Jono is right, BN while outdated is still a good basic profile.

We had one also but the Web writer let it go.:(

If and when IHQ gets this new program set in place (?) maybe there will be a place to put a link to Alumni Sites when available!

I and I am sure many others admire You for wanting to check other Alum Sites and wanting to start one.

Actually, there are places to get graphics and then build from there with Brothers names, email addresses, a change of data link, and anything else you wish to add.

Listing of Alum events, chapter events as the Chapters usually do not have a strong Rho to send out info.

Therefore, it is a need to have a relationship between the RHO, Alum President, and The Web Master.

Let Me see if I have anything and will repost on here.

In ZAX,

Thanks guys. I am hoping to have our site up and running in the next two weeks. Thanks for the preview Jono! Your site is a good reference. Tom, I am currently trying to build that relationship with our Rho, as I am the active Alumni Association President and webmaster. I will make sure I keep you posted on my progress and will post our url when finished. Thanks for the help guys!

Guys,

Here's our (award winning) web site.

We're fortunate to have a fantastic alumni volunteer with the coding chops to make it happen. (Thanks, KB!)

If you need help w/websites, PM me...

I hope I don't violate a major rule here...

if I do, forgive me.

If folks are looking for decent places to host sites, especially one that (a) will bill you, not demand a credit card up front and (b) has lots of experience with non-profit groups that don't have real IT folks on staff, let me make a brotherly recommendation to consider TechnoStars.com. It's a small company that has made it's mark serving (initially) Lutheran churches around the globe, and is ready to move on to other markets.

Since I'm sleeping with the president  I have it on good authority they'll work with chapters and alumni associations in a friendly way.

Yes, there might be cheaper places, but not where service and a commitment to the community are core values.

Up and Running...

Still playing with things, but wanted to share it with you all. Thanks for the help and good ideas. Tom, I will contact you so we can throw ideas around...this is all very new to me. I am not sure if Tau has ever had an Alumni Association...considering our Chapter is in the middle of the wheat fields in Southeast Washington State, most of us alumns are a good 5 hours away from campus.

That's a pretty nice looking website. Congratulations. A complete list of brothers with their zeta numbers is always a nice feature to have on an alumni website. Do you plan to add something like that?

jon1856 08-29-2006 05:27 PM

Take a look at:
www.saenyc.com

The Web master site is:
http://www.innovativenetworks.biz/ and owner is a GLO alumni.

I am hoping to post a complete list of all Tau Brothers with their zeta numbers, but with bad record keeping and never really having had an Alumni Association, it is going to take some work...but I am hoping to post them soon.

Two suggestions:
Work with your schools Alumni Office and your National.

I pulled together my pledge class reunion that way.
