Alcohol Policy Workshop
I am the Risk Chair for my chapter, and I am responsible for organizing a workshop about Alcohol Safety and our RM Policy. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Last year we had police officers come and demonstrate things that they do to test for a DUI and the consequences of getting one, and it was really different from the usual statistics lecture we usually get, but I don't want to do the same exact thing we did last year. If anyone has any creative ideas or knows where I can find an interesting program that would be great!

I don't know what organization this could come from... but have someone speak who was arrested for a DUI and talks about how it changed his/her life. Find out about any sisters who may have lost a loved one to a drunk driver or some other alcohol related event and see if they'd be willing to share their experience.
Relating it on a personal level is always more effective, IMO, than statistics. |

On a side note, we always also have an attorney come and speak to chapter, on what to do if facing an arrest of any sort. Not condoing DUI's or anything, but there are some bad cops out there.

All incoming freshmen at my school have to take an online alcohol awareness class by this Friday and they don't even report until the end of the month.
