need advice
My boss has decided that I should take over my coworker's old job (the one who quit in July) in addition to the work that I already have. On top of that, I have another coworker leaving at the end of the month, and I have been assigned to take over part of his job as well. Since I know that a raise is not in the budget now, would it be inappropriate of me to ask to get my own office since we'll have an available one when the guy leaves at the end of the month? How should I approach my boss about this?

Also, i think you could ask if the office is available since you will be taking over his position? I don't really know about that though b/c you have the potential to sound whiny if you ask...don't you think? (not that i think you're whiny, but you know what i mean) :) |
I think it would be perfectly fine for you to say, Hey, could I have so-and-so's office after he leaves? It still sounds like you're getting a bogus deal, though.
