PNM and Facebook

Okay, I've done what y'all have suggested and eliminated any ugly pictures. I didn't have anything inappropriate to begin with so I had nothing incriminating or suggestive to delete.

Should I worry about "guilt by association"? Do I need to go on each of my Facebook Friends pages and delete Susie Q. as a friend if Susie has a tacky picture of her doing something she shouldn't?

Where will you be rushing? You don't need to list your school, just what conference you're in.

If you have some friends doing some extremely raunchy things (especially on their main pic), or have dirty "names", I might err on the side of caution and remove them during rush. They should understand, and it wouldn't take but 5 min to take them off and 5 min to invite them all back.

I personally would not go that far (to remove "questionable" friends from Facebook during rush) I would not judge a PNM by her friends...People are often very different from their friends and I wouldn't find that to be fair.

Yes, I would like to think so too...but let's face it, I'm betting the kind of groups who use Facebook (or Myspace) in rush are the kind of groups that probably WOULD go that far to look at the PNM's friends.

Personally, I would just make your profile private so that non-friends can't see it.

Yup. If your friends have sketchy profiles, they won't be able to see them if it's set on private. Then, if you want, you can switch it back after rush.

Facebook is just another way to put your best foot forward.I agree with Alphafrog that you should be careful who you list as a friend. You probably want to be careful about groups you list as well.

Good luck!
