Picture in the Paedagogus
 

Does anyone remember a picture in the Paedagogus about 10 years ago that showed a chapter group photo as they were preparing to pick up trash on the roadside? No one else seemed to agree with me back when I saw it, but I swear that one of the guys is flipping off the camera.

Anyway, back then I couldn't believe IHQ let that one slip by. Whenever I see a picture of a group of guys I always assume that one of them has to flip off the camera.

LOL, proof reading is in the eye of the beholder!:D

I wonder how anyone could have missed this when proofreading the layout! I showed it to my wife and she found it in no time at all!

It probably has more to do with the mindset of the person doing the proofreading than anything else. People see what they expect to see, i.e. the old lady at IHQ sees a group of "nice young men" cleaning up the highway.

When the alumni look at it, they automatically look for the guy flipping off the camera, because you know he's bound to be there.

That same Paedagogus has a guy diving into a bodysurf. He looks like he's in some kind of drunken rage. I wonder if the picture was cropped to delete any traces of alcohol; since you'd have to be pretty bombed to dive into a group of people with that kind of ferocity.
