Hello there,
I came upon this website earlier today completely by chance! It seems like a wonderful resource and I am so excited. Convention was wonderful this year, and I am really hoping to be able to attend the next convention as well! Well a big hello and ITB to all of you :) |

I'm New Too!!
Hello Sisters!!
I'm new here as well...and am really excited that I found this site! I'm Katie and the Eta Chapter at the University of Akron is where I call home. I am the director of Alumnae Relations and I think that this place is going to help me link up and strengthen the bonds of sisterhood with our amazing alumnae. :) I look forward to getting to know you all! ITB, Katie |
Hey Katie! Welcome to GC. I have very special ties to the Eta Chapter (although I'm from Eta Kappa). My mom was initiated into the Eta Chapter in 1968ish -- she's actually still on the composite's in your house's basement! When my mom was sick with cancer (seach some of my old threads), we visited the Eta Chapter house and I met Andrea (HannahGirl on here) and she has become quite a crutch in my life truely upholding the Oath of Friendship. On several occations, I've been able to hang out with the ladies of the Eta Chapter and I even got to go to an initiation for you guys in 2003. I love you Eta girls and really consider the Eta Chapter girls my chapter sisters too.
My initiation was really magical when my mom pinned me because she was from the oldest surviving chapter and at the time, I was being initiated into the youngest chapter (when Eta Kappa colonized). Yeah, so all in all, I love Eta! |
Nice to meet you, sister!!
I loved your pinning story about your Mom and Eta...that must have been an incredible feeling and experience. It's so cool to hear first hand that our chapters and Fraternity came around in a full circle (meaning oldest to newest) during that time. Just like her memory and spirit lives on through you...her legacy will live on at Eta. I promise you that! I can't wait to go peek at the composites and find her! Can you PM me with her name, please?? :) I am so glad to hear that Eta remains close to your heart. I have found the most amazing group of women in Delta Gamma and I can't begin to tell you how much this Fraternity means to me. Wait a minute, I'll make a bet that you feel pretty much the same way!! This is quite an amazing bond we all have. :D I read the posts about the Convention awards and let me say congratulations to Eta Kappa (and to you!) on being a consecutive winner!! Woot woot, I absolutely love the website!! So thank you for the welcome post. I can't wait to get to know all the other DG's on this board!! Oodles of LITB, Katie |
