Barbri lawsuit

I just got my official notice about being a member of the class today. Interesting for anyone who is or has been a law student and has or is signed up for Barbri. Their practices are seriously ridiculous and its nice to see someone go after them. They're asking for damages of $1000 per person.

Dani, thanks for the heads up. I called the number listed to make sure that I'm included in future notices.

Definitely a good thing. They said they got the names and addresses from Barbri records. However, they did have my updated address- I lived in a different apartment when I signed up for and took Barbri. So i'm not sure how they verified them and found that I had moved.

But if you've been out for a few years (I think the class includes people who've taken it in the past 7 years), they may not have your correct address so certainly a good idea to call or email them.

Wow, since when does West own Bar/Bri?

I just got my notice in the mail yesterday too....oddly they have my updated address, but I know there are services that do mailings which check the change of address database with the USPS so that probably explains that. I feel kind of guilty since clearly Barbri was responsible for me passing the bar, but oh well! :D
