Please make sure that what you post is trivia that can be found or be public knowledge and not ritual only knowledge (i.e. Anything that is now found on the passworded sections of the Theta HQ site is not appropriate to post here or on any other public forum!

I love trivia! I do have a question though, do we want to put the answer in our post? Or should we ask the question and let the next person answer, like the NPC post in the Greek Life thread?

Yes... ask the question and let someone else answer!

Now my turn....

We all know the first 4 members of Theta, burned into our brains as pledges!
But WHO was the FIFTH??

HAHA!!!I love that book! I also recently finished We Who Wear Kites Volume 1 and splurged with my paycheck to get We Who Wear Kites Volume 2. I've also recently purchased and read Bound by a Mighty Vow (if any of you ladies have not read this book I highly recommend it!!!)

Q. Everyone knows our founder Hannah Fitch Shaw as "Hannah." What other name is she also known as (or was more popularly known as among our founders)?

Jennie!

next question:

Q. Name the Theta who was the architect of the famed Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. (She was also the first woman to earn a certificate in architecture from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.) Bonus points: what was her Theta chapter?

Well, I was going to let someone else have a shot at this one, but maybe I better take it!

Nov 18, 1872, Bloomington, Indiana :) Two chapters in attendance.

Maybe we should have a few questions that you don't need We Who Wear Kites to answer!

thetalady 08-06-2006 10:49 PM

OK, I'm taking the next question. Happens to be one of my pet peeves.... I hope EVERYONE knows this one!!

Was Betty Crocker a Theta?

Since I'm leaving for a week to TN, I'll go ahead and take this one as a last hoorah before I go. :)

"Betty Crocker" as a person did not exist. However, our sister Marjorie Child Husted used her voice as the voice of Betty Crocker.

Additional information from HQ website:
Marjorie Child Husted
Initiated 1909
Marjorie Husted became the 1st radio voice for General Mills’ Betty Crocker the personification of the corporation’s home economics department and she filled that role for twenty years (1927-1947). Beginning in 1926 Child created the department and ultimately designated director of General Mills’ Home Service Program.

Q: What Theta chapter started the publishing of our magazine in 1885? (I got this one this morning from one of those "Did you Know" features on the website hehe. I love those!)
