You have to applaud the woman for being ambitious and not mooching off the family and her "Celeb status" her whole life. Unlike other *AHEM* members of that family.

Yeah, but where is she getting the money to take on this little venture? Probably from her family. If we're going to applaud her for being able to use her family money and connections to start a hotel business, then we should also applaud Paris for using her family money and connections to launch a music "career" and a television "career", movie "career", a nightclub, and a perfume. I do, however, agree that Paris is an incredibly annoying publicity whore.

Exactly. These girls can start whatever business they want, whenever they want, because they have their parents to bankroll them and the money to pay other people to do all of the hard work.

Why are you all putting these girls down? You all know that most of us would kill to be in their positions.

I can't see most people turning down "free" money to start a nightclub, perfume/cologne, hotel in their own name...

Not necessarily putting them down (I have much less reason to put down Nikki than Paris... Nikki at least keeps her nose clean and isn't as much of a publicity whore), but OP said that she should be applauded for not mooching off her family's money and her celeb status. That's not a correct statement b/c that's exactly what she's doing.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with making money from your family's money or celeb status either...as long as you are successful with it (if not that would be a huge waste of money).

Yes, but my point was, she has no reason to need to start a business. She could live free and easy for the rest of her life and never work a day. True, she's using her family's money to start it up, and she will probably pay people to do most of the work, but she is getting a return income on it (if she's a decent businesswoman). She'll be making money at a decent business, instead of sitting on her ass eating bon-bons and spending it or publicity whoring for it.

Nicky Hilton has her own line of t shirts and handbags. I don't know what her profits from that are, but she does have money that's her own and not solely her family's.

But of course she got the start up money for that from her family too, so that doesn't count either, does it now??:p :p
