new Greek movie
Has anyone heard anything about the new Greek movie that is opening soon? this is not the independent and highly controversial one that has been discussed way too much here, but a straight Hollywood production.
It is called "Going Greek", and from the trailer info that I read on a movie premiere site (www.hsx.com), it is a comedy about a freshman who deals with pledging a party fraternity and how it affects the rest of his life, including his anti-Greek girlfriend. That's all I was able to find! would love to hear if anyone else knows anything about it. I'm willing to give Hollywood the benefit of the doubt, but somehow I'm guessing that it will be all stereotypes and squealing drunk co-eds and "Biff and Muffy" types. *sigh!* |
Why do I have a bad feeling that this movie is going to make "Dude, Where's My Car?" look like "Citizen Kane"?

I actually know about this movie because the director is a kid who is 20 from Greenwhich connecticut. He is good friends with my ex who actually just went down to LA and stayed with him there for a few days during thanksgiving break. Kevin is a cool guy he was talking to my ex about the movie, and he said that it is actually going to be really funny. I hope that it is. When I met Kevin for the first time last summer he is someone just like you and me except with a lot more money. I hope that you all dont bash it before we can really see what it is all about since I do not think Kevin would dedicate tons of time and money to something that he did not believe in. I will be the first to go see it, and I will let you all know if it is worth your time.

This probably belongs in "chit chat" but I had to laugh- I saw the previews for Dude- where's my car and just thought... this has got to be the most pointless movie in history. I think we need a "Breaking Away" part II - - only the fraternity wins and are not the "bad" guys! (I'm from Indiana- the movie is old but a fav!)

"Going Greek" was filmed at the SAE house at the University of Southern California (USC) a couple months ago.
Another movie with Reese Weatherspoon was filmed at USC at the ADPi house a month ago that I think is called "Pumpkins" that has to do with the Greek system in some way or another. |
