Icebreakers
hey all,
Now that I'm an alumni I never thought I'd have to post this thread but here goes. I am taking a group therapy class for my MA. One of our assignments is to think of an ice breaker and present it to the class. Obviously this isn't something elaborate or involved. I'm thinking more along the lines of a funny question/answer game or something like that. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions or good websites t hat I can check into. Feel free to either post, or PM me thanks :) |

A couple of fun ones, depending on the group:
* Have everyone introduce themselves, and tell about the most famous person they've ever met or come within ten feet of. * Introduce yourself by the name of your first pet and the street you lived on as a child. (Yes I know this is the same as "What's your porn star name?") Sparky Elm and Misty Morninghill always get laughs. |

I always thought the "2 Truths and a Lie" was fun. You all write down on a piece of paper two things that are true about yourself and one thats made up - like "As a baby, I learned to walk with casts on both my legs" or "I hate the taste of water" (those are two of my personal favorite truths to use;) ) And then when you read it to the group, they have to guess which one is the lie.
Its a fun way to find out some quick, wacky things about each other, and people get either really creative with the lie, or appropriately boring (to match the theme of the truths). |
