Becoming a make-up artist
Hi,
I was wondering if any fellow greek chatters could help me with information on starting to train to become a make-up artist within the state of NC. I'm just not sure where to start so if anyone on here has a friend or family member who could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Thank you, |

Go to cosmetology school where they will train you and help you get certified.

Offer your services for free to family, friends, and acquaintances. When I was first starting out (I'm a former makeup artist), I built a portfolio based on work I did for friends' weddings, graduation parties, and other special events. Make sure you take great photographs of your clients - these will serve as a sample of your work. Consider cosmetology school, where you'll be required to complete a set number of hours in order to become licensed in the field. Apply for jobs at counters, like MAC or Lancome. They offer their employees excellent training, and most counter associates attend schools and meet with some very talented, skilled folks who can offer greater advice.
It's a fun, artistic job. I loved it. |
